A live, in person talk at the Chapter House, Southover Church
Tony Freeman: Lewes Priory Trust: an Update
Tony Freeman, one of the Trustees of Lewes Priory Trust, will update us on the Trust’s recent work, and highlight how it links with other bodies to both maintain and promote the remains that are in the Priory Park.
He will also outline why the Cluniac order was so important, both in England, where it was their first Priory, and continues to be significant more widely in Europe through a lively network of sites and co-operative ventures.
The Trust hopes to be part of a UNESCO/World Heritage Sites bid and the process for that will be described along with future plans for further archaeological explorations.
Expect to be enthused and up-to-date!
