South Downs National Park
We worked with the South Downs Campaign, and helped them financially, to have Lewes included in the South Downs National Park.
Trees
A bequest to Friends of Lewes to fund the planting of trees encouraged the late Paul Millmore, a Friends of Lewes Trustee, to conceive the idea of creating a Lewes Urban Arboretum.
Flooding
There is a history of flooding in the Lewes area, and therefore we are very conscious of the need for flood defences. We participate in consultations with the Environment Agency on flood protection. Read more…
