FoL and South Downs Society joint response to SDNPA and LDC’s Joint Core Strategy proposal for Old Malling Farm development

The South Downs National Park Authority and Lewes District Council have been instructed by the Government Inspector to include Old Malling Farm in its joint core strategy for the development of Lewes District.

If this is allowed to happen this National Park greenfield site in the Ouse Valley between Landport and Malling will be developed with around 200 new houses.

In response to the public consultation, two local environmental campaigning groups, Friends of Lewes and the South Downs Society have put forward a strong objection to the Old Malling Farm development:
