SDNP/14/04537/FUL: Change of use of land from pavement to outdoor seating area.  220 – 221 High Street.
Friends of Lewes has no objection in principle to this application as similar pavement seating is provided outside many other café premises in the town. Its only concern is that when the farmers market and other events are held in the precinct the width of level part of the pavement will be restricted. This is likely to make access to the precinct difficult for disabled and other people who find it difficult to walk on the cobbled section. The Society suggests planning permission should be conditional on tables and chairs not being put out during these events.

SDNP/14/04313/HOUS: Single storey free standing garden room in place of existing garage. 11 Houndean Rise, Lewes
The Friends of Lewes object to this application. The design and materials proposed for the garden room are out of keeping with adjacent buildings in the neighbourhood, contrary to policy ST3 of the Lewes District Council Local Plan. The unattractive box structure will be visible from the road.
