Friends of Lewes Planning Committee Report 1 April 2015

Representations made on planning applications following the meeting of the Planning Committee held on Wednesday 1st April 2015.

Weeks as at 10, 17, 24 & 31 March

Week as at 10 March

SDNP/15/00958/HOUS: Single storey side and rear extension incorporating room in the roof with new dormer window to rear elevation. 37 Fitzjohns Road.
Friends of Lewes objects to the scale of the proposed dormer which is too wide and undermines the proportions, balance and overall character of the building. The conversion of the existing hipped roof to a gable end does not respect the character of neighbouring buildings contrary to policy ST3(a) of the Lewes District Council Local Plan.

SDNP/15/01014/HOUS & SDNP/15/01015/LIS: Replace two rear timber casement windows with hardwood double glazed windows to match existing, 7 Keere Street.
Friends of Lewes objects to the poor detailing of the windows proposed for a listed building within a key street in the Conservation Area and. The window sections are not traditional and have glazing bars mounted on the surface of double glazed units. It considers them inappropriate.

PSDNP/15/01016/HOUS & SDNP/15/01017/LIS: Replacing two existing front timber casement windows on second floor with hardwood double glazed windows to match existing. 7 Keere Street.
Friends of Lewes objects to the poor detailing of the windows proposed for a listed building within a key street in the Conservation Area and. The window sections are not traditional and have glazing bars mounted on the surface of double glazed units. It considers them inappropriate.

Week as at 24 March

SDNP/15/01295/LIS: Addition of cowls to two chimneys on the western side of the building. The Old Coach House Southover High Street Lewes.
