SDNP/15/01633/HOUS: Installation of UPVC replacement windows. 28 De Montfort Road.
The Friends of Lewes acknowledge that many different styles of windows have been installed in houses along De Montford Road. However, the property falls within the Conservation Area and the Society would prefer to see traditional timber sash windows installed, in keeping with the principles of Policy H5 of the Lewes District Council Local Plan.

SDNP/15/01653/ADV: Installation of one non-illuminated aluminium backed advertisement fixed to the existing unit wall. Aldi House Brooks Road.
The Friends of Lewes objects to the scale of the proposed advertisement, which will be clearly visible from the surrounding hills to the east of the town and considers it inappropriate development within the South Downs National Park, contrary to paragraph 115 of the National Planning Policy Framework. Furthermore, the Society is concerned that should permission be granted it will set a precedent for the development of other large scale advertisements on neighbouring commercial buildings.

SDNP/15/02063/FUL: Change all glazing from single glaze to narrow double glazed panes (no change to window frames) and relocation of back door from side to rear of house and addition of dormer window to rear of house. 6 Castle Ditch Lane.
The Friends of Lewes objects to the excessive size of the proposed dormer to the rear of the house and its design, which extends well above the existing roof ridge. The development does not respect the character or appearance of the Conservation Area contrary to Policy H5 of the Lewes District Council Local Plan.
