Friends of Lewes Planning Committee Report 7 November 2019

Representations made on planning applications following the meeting of the Planning Committee held on 7 November 2019: 

SDNP/19/03815/FUL: Erection of 1no. three bedroom dwelling with off road parking. Amendment to application SDNP/18/02356 to change roof pitch to accommodate 1no. new bedroom and bathroom. Land to The rear of 47 Cliffe High Street.
Friends of Lewes object to this amended application which it regards as an over development of the site. The amendments to the roof in the context of the surrounding buildings are inappropriate and the design of the dormers too fussy.

SDNP/19/04733/HOUS: Works to the front of the property, replacement boundary wall and hedge, access alteration, erection of oak frame pergola and replacement of side door. 3 Park Road.
Friends of Lewes have been consulted by the applicants about the development proposed. The Society supports the proposed works and commends the extensive efforts the property owners have made to evolve a worthwhile design that is right for the Conservation Area.

SDNP/19/04670/HOUS: Proposed erection of shed in the front garden. 23 St Annes Crescent.
Friends of Lewes object to the proposal to erect a shed in a front garden within the Conservation Area because of the risk of it being visible from the street. Should permission be granted, conditions should define the maximum permitted height that ensures it is not visible from the street.

SDNP/17/03100/FUL Unit 8, Brooks Road. Removal or Variation of Condition No. 2 of planning consent. (Altering design of retaining wall)
SDNP/19/04748/HOUS West Corner House, 30 The Avenue. Demolish timber cabin and erect new garden room and associated landscaping.
SDNP/19/04760/HOUS 17 Hereward Way. Single storey side extension with flat roof and cedar cladding.
SDNP/19/0804/FUL Malling House, Church Lane, South Malling. Install 4m high riser and CCTV camera to the south-wet of Camber Block.
SDNP/19/04849/HOUS Brook House, Rotten Row. Alterations to roof including removal of single storey flat roof to extend catslide, removal of chimney stack, enlargement of dormer to west and roof lights, window replacements and alterations.
SDNP/19/04934/HOUS Pinehill Cuilfail. Single storey rear extension.
SDNP/19/04991/LIS 125 High Street. Reinstate division between 125 and 126 High Street to form two houses. Replace pyramid rooflight to rear with flat rooflight.
SDNP/19/05126/LIS 1 Malling Street. Alterations to facilitate replacement and relocation of boiler and other decorative internal alterations.
SDNP/19/05172/HOUS 73 Highdown Road.  Erect stepped rear extension.
