The redevelopment of the Lewes North Street Quarter is one of the most significant planning applications submitted since the South Downs National Park came into existence, and the largest in Lewes since it became part of the National Park.
The application will be considered at a meeting of the South Downs National Park Authority’s Planning Committee on Thursday, 10 December 2015 at County Hall in Lewes.

The Friends of Lewes will be considering the amendments and will comment on them within this timetable.
In addition, the application, plans and documents will also be available at:

Press release from the South Downs National Park Authority about amendments to the Santon / LDC plan for North Street, 16 October 2015:
Amended plans for North Street Quarter available for comment
Amended plans for the North Street Quarter development in Lewes will soon be available both from the South Downs National Park Authority’s online public access system and in paper form at the Lewes District Council offices at South over House in Lewes and Park Authority’s office in Midhurst. Public consultation will then take place over a four-week consultation period, the aim is for this to start on 19 October. Site notices will be posted in the area and notifications will be sent to those who responded earlier this year.
To make it as easy as possible to identify changes a list of all plans and other documents will appear in both the online and paper copies, this will distinguish which plans and documents are amended or new, some of these are in the form of addendums to previous documents.
The North Street Quarter lies to the immediate north west of Lewes town centre. The joint owners of the site have submitted an application for its redevelopment, which would be the largest in Lewes since it became part of the National Park.
The application will be considered at a meeting of the South Downs National Park Authority’s Planning Committee on Thursday, 10 December at County Hall in Lewes.
